This photo was taken looking westward from the western edge of the Palawai Basin on the island of Lanai. Only a bit farther and it becomes the Pali Kaholo sea cliffs that drop to the Pacific.

The colors in this photo are obviously great but I really like how the trees on the right curve left toward the center of the photo and toward the source of light. It is also nice how the ocean and sky are indistinguishable from one another.

I love this picture.

Nice shot, great colors. So many details, it seems like the clouds are islands or far away landscapes.

One of you best so fare, keep going and show us the great beauty of Hawaii.

Beautiful sunset, it could be taken anywhere, there is nothing to place it in Hawaii, however perhaps therein lies the appeal, the bare branches suggest winter in a temperate land, not the tropics.

Hi Anne,

This is great image. The layering of the sky with the shifts from blue to orange and the abstract shapes in the foreground make for a very pleasing image. I like the detailing of the texture in the sky. It very much provides a 3rd dimension, as I am looking into the image and not at it.

I might consider a cropping or and slight clockwise rotation, but the image is strong and beautiful.

Wonderful colours on this photo! And the silhuettes of the trees are very effectful. Have they been destroyed by volcano lava?
