Photographer's Note

This in San Diego, America's Finest City, as they call it, one of the richest in the USA.
We know, there are homeless everywhere, but what I noticed here is that this man survive in a colorful place, with relatively fair weather all year round.
In Portugal when someone get a degraded situation, eventually becoming homeless, we say they're going to sleep under the bridge. The man of this picture is actually under the San Diego-Coronado Bridge, in the area of Chicano Park. Sometimes the police appear (see workshop, Altered Image #2), but I'm not sure how the authorities deal with the homeless here.
Some months ago, in a photo or discussion, Patricia (plimrn) referred to whether the San Diego homeless use the supermarket carts or not. I guess I said yes. Here you have a confirmation, as well as another one in the workshop.
Até numa das cidades mais ricas dos EUA há quem durma debaixo da ponte.
