Photographer's Note

One of the big problems for Alaska and I'm sure for other near Arctic places is the melting of the permafrost. In natural areas that has meant lots of landslip and the spreading of spruce forests to areas that used to be frozen.
In the town of Canyon which is just outside Denali NP it has meant that the land is settling resulting in scenes such as this one. It is a still operating bar/restaurant and the whole building is twisted and warped as a result of the permafrost melt.
Inside it is very noticeable with uneven floors, stairs, walls and window frames.

Best in the large view.
