The Newseum

The Newseum, a 250,000 square foot museum of news, is located on Pennsylvania Avenue, across the street from the National Gallery of Art and midway between the U. S. Capitol and the White House. The exterior features a 74 foot high marble engraving of the First Amendment and an immense front wall of glass. The museumís seven levels include 14 news galleries and 15 theaters offering a behind the scenes environment allowing visitors to experience how and why news is made. Interactive exhibits showcase five centuries of news history. The news museum designed by Polshek Partnership Architects opened on April 11, 2008.

My next post on TE will be the interior of the Newseum with information about its galleries and theaters.
