Photographer's Note

This red brick building is now a luxury apartment building in downtown Syracuse. It was built in 1876 by the same architect who built earlier the Syracuse Savings Bank building on Clinton Square. It is on National Register of Historic Places as a prominent Gothic building with "exceedingly pleasant" dissimilitudes The taller white buildings beside it are the OnBank buildings, also visible on the Clinton Square picture. The name of the building comes from a dedication above the entrance to the White family, who played an important role in Syracuse in the early 19th century.
