Photographer's Note

Something completely out of left field today. I've been posting chronological shots from my recent UK trip, but not this time.

I'm posting this one because I'm hurrying up to leave my house to go to work. I have only 5 min to post a new photo and I don't have anything from the UK gallery ready. So lets quickly go back to Chicago.

This is a photo I took in the rain, in the late evening, I think it was around 11pm or perhaps even just a bit past midnight.

We were photographing the famous Chicago Bean, but we were kicked out of the Park because it closes late at night - I didn't know that at the time.
So on the way back to the hotel I stopped to capture this scene. It was raining, but that didn't stop me. I set the tripod up, I got low to the ground and pointed directly UP. Holding my umbrella as best I could to cover the rain from hitting the lens.

The sky turned out this wonderful blue colour over the long exposure, I think it was about 5 seconds.
Hope you like it and I wish everyone a happy weekend.
