Photographer's Note

Glimpse into the past - something from my memory and from my drawer.

Place - Józefa (Joseph's) Street in Kazimierz (medieval Jewish district of Krakow); Wysoka (High) Synagogue (built 1556-1563) with judaistic school (Heder) to the left and the oldest in Europe Stara (Old) Synagogue (built 1495) closing the street.

Year - 1974, summertime; communistic epoch at their best - iron curtain still working. Few papers publishing the same, strictly censored news.
So - if one wished to be well informed - one had to take things into one's hands and had to do observations of the world with one's own eyes, hear to it with one's own ears... And it was quite reasonable thing to do at that very time. There were no hordes of tourists distracting attention, no cacophony of mixed voices all around, no traffic at all...
Those were the times... :))

camera - Smiena 3
