Photographer's Note

Este é o enorme pátio interno de Romaria que eu postei ontem ( veja foto anterior ) na cidade histórica de Congonhas do Campo.

This is the huge Romaria internal courtyard which I posted yesterday (see previous picture) in the historic town of Congonhas do Campo.

Romaria ( Pilgrimage ) served as a shelter to the poor who, since 1770, come to Congonhas every year in the period 7-14 September for the celebration of the Lord's Jubilee Bom Jesus de Matosinhos.
In 1993, the City regained ground with the remnants of the old Pilgrimage. The porch began to be restored in 1994 and with an area of 53,000 square meters, the festival was rebuilt, maintaining the same architectural features of the old inn, which was inspired by the architecture of the chapels of the Passion Steps, built in the eighteenth century, It is inaugurated on July 30, 1995.

From its inception, the festival has hosted a large structure designed to preserve the history, culture, arts, leisure and tourism in Congonhas.
