Photographer's Note

Here in Central Florida the Live Oaks provide much needed habitat. Here in the Canaveral Wildlife refuge there is a lot of room for Deer, wild hogs, eagles, otters, alligators, bobcats, as well as other small mammals, snakes, and birds. I have come upon all the above noted on my many hikes. The live oaks are very eerie in their appearance. They make the bends in the paths all the more uncertain on what lies ahead. Still the adventure is fun. Like elsewhere on the planet, development is quickly making nature disappear. The National parks and refuges are nothing more than giant zoos or holding pens. Man has pretty much encircled what is left of the natural wilderness. sad really
