Photographer's Note

Construction of the complex started in 1578 CE and was completed in 1580 (although I have found numerous other dates on the Internet). This view of the facade is from the forecourt (sp. atrio) to the west of the nave (70 metres in length). There is a cloister, a granary, and accommodation (I seem to recall 4 rooms for the brothers, now part of the museum). As then, so now, the complex forms the heart of the village; and it was from here that the surrounding territory of the Sierra was administered.

Geo coordinates for use in Google Earth: N, W with elevation at 63 metres.
