Photographer's Note

This building, owned by the students, is located on the North Campus of the University of Alberta at 114 Street NW. Here the interests of all undergraduate students are pursued and a number of businesses are carried out that appeal to students' concerns. Inter alia, there is a health and dental plan on offer, student offices, a bookstore, extensive food services, and even a 750-seat performance theatre. The building, designed in the Brutalist Style, opened in 1967. The facade is decorated with some amazing cast iron sculpture - a work by the Catalan born Canadian sculptor Jordi Benet 1932 - 1979. The whole is located to the immediate west of the Flame Tower.
