Photographer's Note

This hotel was constructed around 1900 when the swastika was better remembered as a symbol of good luck.
Today, the hotel is closed due to the high cost of maintaining it, and will likely be demolished before its bricks start falling away.
This architectural detail is a reminder of how symbols change with the times.
