Photographer's Note

Granville Island is one of the main attractions in Vancouver. On the island, which is owned by the federal government, there is a major fresh food market, and art college, many artisan work spaces, some very good restaurants, theaters and buskers.

Here, a busker packs up at the end of his performance. To keep the level of performers high, all buskers must be licensed by the Island and they are strictly limited in where and for how long they can perform. You can see his busker's identification clipped to his hat.
