Photographer's Note

The Column of Marcus Aurelius is a victory column raised in his honour in the Piazza Navona in Rome Italy. The column, of marble, was constructed in the years 176 - 193 CE. One of the episodes depicted on the column is this, known as the Rain Miracle. A God, answering a prayer from the Emperor, rescues Roman troops by causing a terrible storm.
