Photographer's Note

An inushuk, an Inuit word for a group of rocks arranged in the form of a human, stands in the garden of Quebec's parliament.

Native travellers traditionally arranged these stone sculptures in the shape of a person. They built them as markers to indicate a safe passage for those who travelled behind them.
