Early morning, the sun rises on a blanket of snow. Through the trees silhouettes, we see a mysterious dark tower...

This is actually the "grande poudrière", or large powder magazine, part of the old fort built in 1825 to protect then-British Montreal against a possible American invasion, after the war of 1812. It's located on Sainte-Hélène's island, in the St-Lawrence river, facing Montreal.
