Photographer's Note

This is one of several rhinos at the Al Ain Wildlife Park. These are huge animals with females weighing in up to 1,600 kgs while the male could weigh 2,400 kgs. A social animal, they possess a wide mouth to facilitate grazing. You may note that the eye, just beneath the smaller of two horns, is open. They have a thick skin and a relatively small brain, large enough however to tell them when it is best to stay out of the hot sun.

PS: White rhinoceroses are usually gray in colour!
