Photographer's Note

Because many viewers have asked me to do so, I am posting another Kodachrome taken in 1953, chosen among the many of my vintage collection.
These boats were hired to cross the Golden Horn, and the place is Karaköy, on the Galata part of Istanbul. Needless to say that no such boats are found nowadays at the same place. There are boats crossing the Golden Horn near Eyüp, way inside the estuary. The great mosque in the back is one of Sinan's top monuments, the Suleymaniye.

For those who seek nostalgic shots.
