Photographer's Note

This is the newest addition to Bqaakafra's beautiful landscape. Bqaakafra is located about 110km north of Beirut, overlooking the Qadisha Valley, "Holy valley". Bqaakafra is about 1750m above sea level, and is the highest village in Lebanon.
The statue is of St Charbel, the Patron Saint of Lebanon, and Bqaakafra is his place of birth. Every year mid-july, Bqaakafra transforms from a quiet farm village, to a huge party atmosphere for one week, with the celebrating of the St Charbel festival.
