The Gorges du Tarn river extend from Quézac to le Rozier on 53 km. The Tarn river passes from quiet places in rapids between the rock faces which reach sometimes 500 m, cut in the layers of limestone which reach 650 m and up to 1,500 m per place.

The Tarn river, takes its source to approximately 1600 m of altitude, north of hamlet of the Hôspital, not far from the peak Cassini, on the slopes of Mount-Lozère, the territory of the commune of le Pont-de-Montvert, and is thrown after 380 km of course in the Garonne close to Castelsarrasin.

A little geology of causses and the cévennes.

Sainte-Enimie is a french commune, located in the department of Lozère of the Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 509 Santrimiols in 1999, distributed out of 88 km², that is to say 6 hab./km².

At the bank of the Tarn river, and fountain of Burle, the village of Sainte-Énimie is located between the two large causses Méjean and Sauveterre.

Sainte-Énimie is one of the "Plus Beaux Villages of France", one of the more beautiful village of France.

The commune of Sainte-Énimie gathers several quite as beautiful villages and hamlets the ones as the others, Like Castelbouc, Hauterives, Prades, Saint-Chély-of-Tarn, which are on banks of the Tarn river, whereas Boisset, Champerboux and Sauveterre, are on causse of Sauveterre.

According to the legend:
Enimie would have been the daugther of Clotaire II, (584-629), king of the Francs from 613 to 629, and dedicated its life with God. It contracted leprosy thus pushing back its suitors. With the advertisement of an angel, she cures herself by a bath taken in the Fountain of Burle. Its life of holiness, then will occur on the spot, where she died about 628.

Joel,
This is a nice landscape shot. Your composition is nice using the river to lead the eye into the shot. The V formed by the valley draws the eye to the distant mountain. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has excellent sharpness.

J'y étais en début juin et c'était jolie, mais je vois qu'en octobre c'est encore plus lus jolie grace aux couleurs de l'automne. Très belle photo de cette rivière.

bonjour joel,
pour une fois, il n'y a pas une foultitude de canoës qui encombrent le Tarn, du coup ; la photo est plus naturelle, plus sauvage aussi, tu as capté de tres belles couleurs et ton cagrage est parfait.

Bonsoir Joël,

Les réflexions sur l'eau de la rivière Tarn sont des atouts à la composition. La prise de vue dirige mon regard vers la montagne ce qui donne de la profondeur à la composition. Ce beau ciel bleu génère une lumière qui rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

Un point de vue très bien choisi pour ouvrir cette belle perspective profonde vers les Gorges et leur végétation abondante où les premières couleurs chaudes de l'automne se mélent harmonieusement au vert. Belle image d'une nature sauvage.

Ce paysage est une merveille et en plus tu l'as photographié à l'automne sous une belle lumière. J'aime cette composition en X qui nous fait voir la vallée avec ses deux versants.

C'est le motif qu'on peut voir a chaque moment. A chaque saison, le photographe ne rentre bredouille. Je pense meme, tu garedes quelques truites dans les poches. Pour completer ta belle promenade dans ce fameux canion. Merci Joel, je le vois avec grand plaisir!
