Further to this shot taken a few weeks ago, this is what these woods are really supposed to look like in April.

Sadly the bluebells are now gone and in their place are ferns and shade from all the leaves that have filled the trees above them, but it's still a beautiful place for a walk.

This is the kind of scene which comes to mind when I think of English woods and for ages I've been trying to get this kind of shot. Unfortunately the bluebells only grow in narrow strips along the edges of these woods unlike some woods in England which are apparently full of them all the way through.

Close your eyes and imagine the warmth of the sun creeping through the trees, the sound of the birds chirping around you and animals rustling in the dried leaves, the smell of the bluebells and you'll find yourself in another place away from the violence of the modern world.
