Sherlock Holmes Pub Photo

Photographer’s Note

This shot of the Sherlock Holmes Pub/Restaurant was taken in the early evening after a long day of exploring London. The line inside and the wait for a seat at the bar prevented the enjoyment of a much needed pint. However we did manage to find another pub only a short distance away.

The Sherlock Holmes is a split Level establishment with a bar on the ground floor and on the first floor, an intimate, covered roof garden and the Sherlock Holmes restaurant.
The study can be viewed from both the roof garden and the restaurant, with an entire wall of the study being glass plated to give commanding views from where you are eating.(The Sherlock Holmes)

It's a nice and clear street shot.

I think framing could have been better. Instead of including that much empty pavement on the bottom, it would be better to have top floor of the building visible in the photo.

I like this picture for its natural colours and its sharpness. I think you have framed the frontage nicely with the sidewalk(or pavement as they call it in England) the second storey windows, the branches and the alley way. Very good job.

Hello Asa.
I like this scene! So very English. I know this pub in London but haven't been for many years. It's quite nicely composed and the green foliage top left makes a great match for the hanging flowers. Perhaps there is a little too much of the road at the bottom. The colours and detail are really good.

what splendid detail! Perfectly sharpened and such nice clarity. I like the contrasts with the black on the pub front and the white windows against the brick. Good view at the pug and terrav\ce, but also of the archtectral details of this building... nice one. Atmosphere seems to be quite relaxed! Sharp details and fine exposure.

You have captured a great typical London street scene here, and you even included the street name plaque.
The London red brick and the bottle green paint are great with the white architectural and embelished windows.
I like the Sherlock Home stories and it's good to see a bit of my homeland!
