Photographer's Note
During my third visit to London on November, 2018 I was able to enjoy again the beauty of this fascinating city, but augmented this time by the splendid lighting and Christmas decorations. As well, because around 16:00 hours was darkly, I was able to take many nocturnal photos and at blue hour of this magnificent city.
At 16:38, from the left bank of the River Thames, in the area of the Tower of London, I could take this photo of the illuminated Tower Bridge, something I could not do in my previous trips there. Despite the intense cold of that afternoon, I held my small tripod over the railing, and tried the shot. I think that capturing this scene was worth it, without a doubt.
Wikipedia Info:
The bridge of the two towers, Tower Bridge in english, is a bridge that crosses the River Thames in London. It combines the characteristics of bascule bridge and suspension bridge. It is built in Victorian neo-Gothic style, and is located near the Tower of London, which gives it its name.
In 1875 a special committee was created to find a solution to the passage over the river, which convened a contest to choose the design of the future bridge. The evaluation of the designs was surrounded by controversy, and it was not until 1884 when the created by Horace Jones, the architect of the city, was approved.
Jones' design was a tilting bridge 244 m long and 7 m wide, with two towers 65 m high. The central distance of 61 m between the two towers is divided into two cams, which can be raised to an angle of 83 degrees to allow river traffic to pass. Although each cam weighs more than 1000 tons, they are counterbalanced to minimize the energy required to lift them, which takes a minute. The original hydraulic mechanism, designed by William Armstrong, used pressurized water stored in six accumulators. The water was pumped into the accumulators by steam engines. The bridge can load more than 2000 tons.
Currently, the original hydraulic machinery still opens the bridge, although it has been modified to use oil instead of water, and electric motors have replaced the place of steam engines and accumulators. The old machine rooms are open to the public.
The bridge was inaugurated by the Prince of Wales on June 30, 1894, six years after the death of Jones, and after eight years of construction. The same day of its inauguration, the prestigious specialized magazine The Builder called it "monstrous and grotesque."

Hello Josep,
It's a classic view, but this photo is so well taken that it certainly deserves a place here. The illuminations are very elegant and are beautifully reflected in the river. You were lucky that there were a few gaps in the clouds, giving you a tonally rich sky. But a good photographer deserves some luck. ;-) It's excellently exposed and the diagonal position of the bridge is very enjoyable.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hola marido,
Preciosa imagen, querido

Hi Josep
This is simply gorgeous! What amazing architecture and what an excellent night time capture. Love your exposure handling all appeared sharp in focus, very catchy illuminated shapes along with deep colours exuding the feel of extensive depth. A wise inclusion of tree branches on the left preventing the eye from straying out of frame. The fab textured steely water is another strong valuable point worth mentioning. You made that iconic bridge look grandeur! Top class work, Congrats
Best regards

Hello Josep, perfect timing where the blue sky is almost royal blue, beautiful.
The bridge is still easily identifiable with all the lights outlining its distinctive shape.
Lovely muted reflections of the lights on the river.
Thanks for sharing, regards Jean.
