Photographer's Note

Taken at Lanark Loch last month on a misty autumn morning as the sun was starting to pierce the mist, this fellow was fishing for roach in the loch. Whether he caught any fish later, I don't know, but he certainly hadn't caught any when I spoke with him. He was, however, enjoying a relaxing time on this peaceful and calm morning - until a crazy photographer came along!

Originally constructed on the outskirts of Lanark in the 1830s as an emergency water reservoir for the town, Lanark Loch no longer functions as such but is now a fine place for recreation where walkers, joggers, dog walkers and fishermen can take some exercise and fresh air. Or feed the ducks and swans.
