Photographer's Note

With apologies to Jimi Hendrix for the mangling of his song title, it seemed like the perfect title. :)

Castle Stalker is a privately owned castle along the A828, just before you come to the town of Appin. (Appin is separately famous as the location of the Appin Murder, featured in the novel Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson). Castle Stalker is most famous to people outside the region as the location of the Holy Grail in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Classic British cinema that. I had to be sure to make a stop here while we were in the UK. :)

This shot was taken a couple hours before sunset, at about 8:10 in the evening. At that latitude, the sun doesn't set until almost 10:30 this time of year. Beautiful light for several hours--it's hard to beat.
