That rocket shaped skyscraper you see here is the “30 St Mary Axe”, formerly known as Swiss Re Tower, but commonly called “the Gherkin” by the Londoners. It’s 179.80 m high and it’s the second tallest building in the city of London. The building was started in 2001 and was finished in 2004.
The photo is taken from the Millennium Mile in the South bank of the river Thames, near the London bridge.
