Down House is the former home of the English naturalist Charles Darwin and his family. It was in this house and garden that Darwin worked on his theories of evolution by natural selection which he had conceived in London before moving to Downe.
Down House was formally opened to the public as a museum on 7th June 1929.
Unfortunately I couldn't take photos inside of the Down House...but it is fantastic.

An impressive house and you have captured it nicely under a sympathetic ambient light. I like the tiered effect and the agreeable colours. Also, the very good clarity.

very nice the view of the exterior of Down house with the visitors to add life in the museum in our days. The falling light on the foreground in spite of the dark sky makes the image even more effective.

A fine old mansion, and I am surprised that it looks so modern, like a house that could easily be built today. I can only imagine the thought processes that went on in this house, and it would be great to see inside, but so many places like this don't allow that. Very interesting post, I was not expecting to see Charles Darwins house today :)

Your note about Darwin, takes me back to my college days when I was a Biology minor. And your view of his home reveals its size and interesting use of wall climbing plants. Would be fun to venture and explore inside.
Thanks for sharing,

The wideness of the lawn is giving depth to the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the architecture of the house. The stormy sky is giving a good contrast to the colors. Have a nice day.

J'apprécie ce ciel dramatique qui contraste avec cette habitation
Bon choix du point de vue
