Photographer's Note

This is a shot I took for our personal Christmas Card a few yrs ago which was quite a challenge as there was no snow.
I used Courtney studio lighting at night outside to be able to light the snow and window frame. Taken on a tripod so a slow shutter could be used to keep the warm feeling inside and then corrected in photoshop, slightly cropped.
The snow is salt and managed to get it to stick to the glass by beating up egg whites and painting on the glass where I wanted the snow, then throwing the salt on so it stuck there.

The 26 point Advent Star is a traditional Moravian Advent and Christmas Decoration, put up on the 1st Sunday in Advent and taken down on the last day of Christmas . It originated in the evening handicraft sessions at the Paedagogium in Niesky, Germany in 1850. It has a 3-fold message:
It testifies to the greatness of the Creator who made the stars
It is a reminder of the star that once led the Wise Men
It points to Jesus who is described as "the bright morning light"

I wish all fellow TrekEarth followers a very Happy, Peaceful Christmas where ever you are.
