Photographer's Note

A wider view of Buckland Abbey.
My previous shot was taken from the opposite side, looking towards the Abbey, with the trees behind me, and the barn to my right.

"The tower of the priory, with a monastic barn of extraordinary size, are seen.... as in a forest, far distant from the haunts of men." William Marshall 1796.
(From the NT leaflet about Buckland Abbey)

The barn is the very large building to the left, the Abbey is on the right.
There are several marked walks in the extended grounds of the Abbey, one of which we decided to take on this particular day.

"Hundreds of years ago, Cistercian monks chose this tranquil valley as the perfect spot in which to worship, trade and farm their estate."

One more shot in the workshop.
Thank you for looking.
