Photographer's Note

this is, if I am not mistaken my 100th photo on TE.
In former post I have shown to you several shots of the Baseler Münster in day and night. This time I am standing on the square in front of the Münster looking at the River Rhine and the Kleinbasel (small Basel) as the part of town north of the river is known. Crossing the river is the mittlere Brücke. This bridge built in 1903 stands in place of the older bridge there. The older bridge was built in 1225 and was for centuries the only permanent bridge crossing the river Rhine on its whole length.
Further downstream there is the new built Campus, the headquarters of pharmaceutical multinational Novartis. In the Campus every house is built by an other architect coming from as far as Portugal or Japan. No money was spared in the building of the Campus and the city gave Novartis a whole quarter of the city for their plans. Its counterpart Roche sits just somewhat upstream and they have plans to build the highest building yet in Switzerland. So you see, there is a lot of money in the pharma business.
