Photographer's Note

A met this little family who were going to feed the ducks, a popular thing all over the world. In Sweden many towns keep the water near a park icefree with rotors or other means to get this opportunity for ducks and taxpayers.

What impressed me when taking this picture are the well organized ducks. When the family came down to the shore there were no ducks there. The ducks where at their usual hangout on the other shore and a bit downstream, in total a distance of a little less than a kilometer from here. They might seem lazy and unorganized, just paddling around in circles but less than a minute from the time the family came down to the water the first ducks landed in front of them with the rest allready airborne behind them. Counting backwards it shows that within seconds after the first duck spotted the family the whole gang was lined up on the runway. I think that is an organized group response that we humans hardly can beat.
