Photographer's Note

The Village of Piódão is one of the twelve classified Portuguese Villages as historical. Situated in the district of Coimbra, city of Arganil in a hillside of the pretty Mountain range of the Açor. It is village, of agricultural and difficult accesses, an excellent example of as the human being if it adaptou throughout the centuries to the most inhospitable places. Its typical houses of shale and blackboard, with windows and doors painted in blue go down the hillside of mountain range, forming one anfiteatro, what it of the o nickname of “presépio village”. The involving nature is almost that in pure state, observing for the region diverse species of typical fauna and flora of the place.
