Photographer's Note

15d is not the newest camera from canon or nikon, nor for that matter is a great photo, perhaps better viewed as part of the series , but it's taken in a place I had a chance to visit for the first time few weeks ago.

History lesson at it's ugliest, standing at the very place where 1,000,000 were murdered in a span of few years is an absolute nightmare, we all are aware of the place, yet being there in person adds another dimention, one can just stare and listen in disbelief, with a throat squeezed, touching the walls that were covered by streams of blood, smell of burnt flesh, ......

Average time the prisoners were able to survive was 3 months..... I saw an older lady revisiting the place, she had numbers tatooed on her left arm, she was very quiet...

there was a soviet documentary made when the camp was liberated, it shows extatic prisoners smiling and loughing leaving the gates, the documentary was staged and recorded few months after liberation, the fact was that after the gates were opened there were no smiles or loughs, only blank stares, most stayed there for weeks until they were strong enough to be transported elsewhere, most didn't know what to do, couldn't leave the demons behind them for the rest of their lives.
