Rising up over the port of Gdańsk is the Gdańsk Crane (Żuraw), a symbolic landmark of the city’s trading heritage. Learn about the people who shaped the success of Gdańsk’s port, discover the crane’s impressive human-powered machinery and appreciate the city views from its lookout. First mentioned in the 14th century, Gdańsk Crane is one of the world’s oldest port cranes. Today’s crane is a post-World War II reconstruction and forms part of the National Maritime Museum.
