Photographer's Note

Well.. Who is citizen of Walbrzych, knows well, what actually hides behind the name of “Mausoleum”. That is a mysterious place. Place where many “adventurers” are heading to, including: drug addicts, satanists, drunks, artists, high school students, tourists, thugs, photographers, musicians, writers, sport teachers, neighbors, local residents, and any other “scouts”… :)

Last time I was there in 90′s, as an high school student, himself. Together with Jagoda, Anna and Ludwik, my brave companion these past days!

Actually, it was created between 1936 – 1938 by Robert Tischler. Structure itself looks similar to square stronghold, with the following dimensions: 24×27 meters and height of 6 meters originally.

Mausoleum commemorating 170 thousand Silesians who died during I'st World War, the victims of accidents in the mines, and 25 local militiants of the National Socialist movement.
