Photographer's Note

Jan, the youngest in the village (he's 57 years old). It was him who took me to the honey-house (see my previous post).

Long long ago there was a nation called Minorrusians, originally from south western Ukraine.
Approximately a thousand years ago they started to inhabit what is today the very eastern land of Poland.
Their ancestors were for long under a strong influance of Poles, Ukrainians, and Belarussians.
They nearly lost their identity, and probably hardly any Pole knows the ethnic name of those people (Podlaszucy).
They call themselves "homies" or simply "orthodox".

But what is fascinating is the architecture so much characteristic for this region. Look at the painted and carved windows and their decorations.
