Photographer's Note

"In Poland, traditional family life - extended family life - continues no matter what age kids are....
Polish parents expect to stay involved in their adult children's lives throughout life. Parents of adult children need to be needed and feel cut out of action if they are not."

Shortcuts to Poland by Laura Klos Sokol

This man (whom you could meet in my previous photo) lives right behind the corner in a large house. The house has 28 rooms and is occupied by his vast family of sons and daughters, his grandchildren (14 as far as I remember).
Most of the houses in Nur are wooden and rather small. His however was really large and made of bricks.
