Lake Staw, Gawrych Ruda.

A lake Staw in the Suwałki commune, located west of Lake Wigry, with which about 200 stroke connects. On its west bank there is the village of Płociczno-Tartak, and on the eastern side belong to the village of Gawrych Brown.

The surface of the lake is 20.75 ha, with a maximal depth of 14.2 m. Thanks to underground sources ensuring high transparency of water, it is considered an excellent place for diving.

The bay located at the southern end of the lake has a maximum depth of 4 m. The bottom of the lake in this part is overgrown almost completely, and in its waters there are, among others, pikes, roaches, perch, eel, crayfish; lurking beavers.
