Back in Norwegian Time

I don't have any more photos of guards, but I would like to stay in Scandinavia with this picture taken in the Norsk Folkemuseum (Norwegian Museum of Cultural History) at the peninsula Bygdøy in Oslo. Apart from a collection of artefacts from everywhere in the country, there is also an open-air museum with buildings relocated from towns and rural districts. I believe the houses you see here are small working class houses from Enerhaugen near Oslo.

Hello lars,
As soon as opened the thumbnail, the figure of a lady at the well gave good hint that the place is not contemporary scene, and and than read the note: indeed a nice replica of old village and life as it once looked.

Hello Lars,

This is living history!
I am very much in favour of such ventures.
I don't know if you have ever been but in the N.E. of England, there is a place called Beamish, where a whole town has been rebuilt from relocated buildings and associated features. It really is a step back in time and a very worthwhile experience!

This is lovely, the positioning of the buildings guides naturally from f/g to the b/g, where the figure draws attention. The exposure is spot on the the colours attractively bright.

Hello Lars,
This is a nice photo from what seems to be a very similar kind of museum as Skansen in Stockholm. The cottages are very pretty, the photo is nicely balanced and the colours are superb. I haven't been to Skansen for many years but on my island there are several areas looking similar to this, but "for real". Which makes me wonder if the woman is real, hired to underscore the old world atmosphere, or a dummy.

Ja, dat was een mooie zonnige dag waarop we heel wat afgelopen hebben. Mooi dat er ook nog zo’n Oud-Noorse vrouw opstaat. Dat plaatst het toch nog een beetje in deze tijd.

A beautiful image, with this view of some of these charming houses, which make up the Museum in the open air. The image brings me good memories, because last summer I was visiting it, on a trip through Scandinavia.
Sharpness, illumination and color, and magnificent composition are all factors perfectly accomplished in this beautiful image.

Hallo Lars,
Dergelijke museumdorpen zijn zeer interessant en bijzonder pittoresk. Je vindt ze ook in Zweden en Denemarken.
Je genoot toen van prachtig weer waarbij de kleuren van de houten woningen optimaal tot uiting komen.
Blijkbaar loopt er ook nog iemand rond in traditionele kledij om het plaatje compleet te maken.
Mooie presentatie.

oh yeah, this has Norwegian style written ALL over it :)
these can be spotted a mile away.

really like the acute sharp angles of that dirty yellow coloured home. It stands out as if its Asking for attention, begging for attention :)

luckily for you the blue sky gives a strong contrasting element, gotta like that! cheers

we have a similar thing, maybe in smaller scale, in curitiba urban parks. nice idea to preserve this humble and so beautiful architecture. lovely the angle catching well the shapes and especially the intense colors and even a personage. nice image. TFS.
