Ålesund at dusk

This is a view of the Norwegian town of Ålesund, seen from the 188m-high hill Aksla. It was taken about half an hour after sunset, which, at this latitude and this time of year, means half past three.

Ålesund has a population of about 45,000 and is located in the county of Møre og Romsdal. It is known for its Art Nouveau architecture, that was constructed after a fire in 1904, that destroyed almost all of the, then wooden, town.
