Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
I have shared a couple of photographs from inside the Kröller-Müller museum, in the national park Hoge Veluwe in Otterlo, now, here is a piece of art from the surrounding sculpture park
This is Marta Pan's (1923-2008) floating sculpture from 1960, The sculpture is made of polyester reinforced with fibreglass and aluminium, it floats on the pond.
What I really loved, was that this piece of art was constantly changing in our perception, though the sculpture was still the same. As the wind caught it, it moved around on the water, so the light upon it and its reflection changed too!
I will add a different view of it as a workshop.
Looking back on my photographs and remembering how I felt when I was there, I am so grateful to Viviane and Chris for planning this wonderful visit, to a place we might not have considered.
Enjoy your day, Bev :-)

Hi Bev,very original and unique artwork, floating on the ponds giving different ideas about its form as i can see comparing the main pic with the WS. The totally white and the bright reflections make me think to a big swan..ehehe...interesting and curious post made in a perfect quality, well done! Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Beverley,
Another true Kröller-Müller sculpture park classic, I remember seeing this floating work of art when I visited the park for the first time, which much have been when I was about 10 years old. It's a fantastic photo with wonderful reflections and some nice autumn leaves in the foreground as well.

Hello Bev,
I also remember my visit to this museum with great pleasure, and maybe like you I possibly enjoyed the sculpture garden even more than the collection inside. But I don't remember this floating sculpture! Did I miss so much, or is my memory slipping away? :-(
It's a very nice work, depending not only on its constant movements but also on the ever changing reflections and the surroundings. Even the floating brown leaves play a part in this composition.
Kind regards,
Gert

Bonjour Beverley,
“This wonderful visit, to a place we might not have considered...”
Exactly why I thought it would be a great experience for everyone. I remember Christine in the museum, amazed and admiring each part of Kröller-Müller... So glad you felt that way too! :)
Great photo, bright and rather sharp, maybe a bit too tightly framed (again) but maybe it’s your way to look at it and it makes the difference with other photographers.
Amitiés,
Viviane

Hi Bev,
Very nice of Viviane to offer to chaperone you around Holland. This sculpture reminds me of an old landline telephone. Good sharpness and nice reflections. Tfs!

Bonjour Beverly,
J'aime beaucoup l'utilisation du reflet pour doubler notre plaisir et aussi nous offrir quelque chose de très différent de l'oeuvre originale. Les feuilles dans l'eau sont le beau côté de l'automne.
Amicalement

Hello Beverley, what a strange sculpture yet perfectly placed on the water, so that its reflection will be constantly changing as the light changes. Indeed the reflections are near perfect as the water is so still.
I like the added colour of the autumn leaves.
Vertical presentation works really well for this scene.
Kind regards
Jean

Hi Beverley!
Some years ago, there was a black swan who lived on Aa lake near Münster/Westphalia and fell in love with a huge white swan-shaped pleasure boat.
I wonder how swans in Hoge Veluwe are being seduced by this sculpture?
BTW: A nice series from Kröller-Müller museum, which would be a fine goal for me since I'm retired now.
Best regards from Rhineland

Thanks Bev - you have a wonderful gift of finding beauty and interesting things to share with us. I very much like the reflection side - the mixture of floating leaves and the sculptural shadows surrounded by the reflected trees and sky - it all looks in motion, well captured by this point of view. NICE

Hello Bev ,
Even I'm not a fan , the sculpture is interesting . But above all , it is an important element of this beautiful composition with the reflection and the gpolden leaves against the dark water in the Fg .

Hello Bev,
Thank you for a fascinating and very informative note and two lovely photographs of this artwork by way of illustration!
Although not a huge fan of much modern art, I do rather like this floating creation as it reminds me of an elegant and beautiful swan moving slowly in the water with its wings partly unfurled. You have captured the scene and the artwork perfectly in these two fine photographs with lovely soft light, true colours and exceptional detail and sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello Bev,
Two beautiful photos of this graceful floating statue in the Kröller-Müller museum.
The elegant shapes, the constant movement and the beautiful reflection make this image one of my favourite in this beautiful sculpture garden.
In the meantime it is raining cats and dogs here too.
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Hi Bev,
I like your title which implies that the art is moving your soul but then it appears it is just floating on the water surface.
Great capture with the reflection making it so visually attractive.
Everything seems to be useful here starting from the leaves on the lake in the foreground to the well saturated green grass in the back.
Beautiful result,
M

Beverley, original sculpture made in polyester reinforced with fiberglass and aluminium. That object floating on the pond embellishes the park. I like its reflection on the water. Fine colors, good image quality, instructive photo note, regards.
