Photographer's Note
Hello Everyone,
My photograph, today, shows part of the Central Station, Arnhem. I was so surprised to see what an amazing, modern building it is!
I looked on TE and was most surprised to note there were no images from this beautiful and remarkable building. which is full of sensuous curves and unexpected widow openings.
This is just one of the curves that we experienced first, as we descended from the car park
I will another as a workshop.
Central Station is the new “front door” of the city, embracing the spirit of travel, and establishes Arnhem as an important node between Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium.
The structure of the roof and twisting column was only made possible by abandoning traditional construction methods and materials; much lighter steel replaced concrete – originally intended for the station – and was constructed using boat building techniques on a scale never before attempted.
The terminal houses commercial areas, and a conference centre, and provides links to the nearby office plaza, city centre, underground parking garage and the Park Sonsbeek. - Wikipedia
My warm regards, Bev :-)

Hello Beverley,
The last time I was in Arnhem the new station was still being built. That was at least 12 years ago and it took awfully long before the station was finally finished (much longer than expected as well, but that usually happens with large Dutch construction projects). Anyway, I haven't seen the new station yet, but it is regarded as a real masterpiece. Your photo shows the architecture really well. Wonderful curves and shapes with a nice, silvery light.

Bonjour Bev,
Très réussie comme composition. Beau point de vue, beau trait de lumière qui vient de la gauche, deux belle lignes parallèles qui pousse le regard dans cette direction, belles courbes douces.
Amicalement

Hello Bev,
I would not have identified this as a railway station. My guess would have been an art museum with a very large and elegantly designed sculpture next to the staircase. The steps make the think of domino tiles, but what an amazing coincidence that they all show three dots. This looks like a most amazing station, and the WS really reminds me more of an airport. Both photos are very interesting and cleverly composed.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Bev
Amazing building and superb graphic image. It's sometimes difficult when faced with lots of interesting subjects to decided which to include in your photo. They say that the art of composition is not about what to include but what to leave out and you managed that so well. Both shots are really beautiful but this one is definitely my fav because of the tight crop that makes the shapes and lines look almost abstract.
Great work and well done on adding a new location to TE.
Best wishes

Hello Beverley
Well spotted and well captured.
Your choice of composition makes the curves and lines into much more than just that, pulling the viewer in to the photo and into the lovely gradient of shade and highlight.

Hello Bev
I like the image captured here. Yes the lines create a view that is what captures the eye. Good catch. I need myself to look for such opportunities. The tad bit of orange light in the ceiling gives a nice hint of color.

Hello Beverley, quite futuristic in style, I would never have guessed that this was a station, my guess would have been part of an art gallery!
Excellent point of view which includes a variety of different lines. Indeed this could be a work of modern art,
Parts of it remind of the work of Barbara Hepworth.
Thanks for sharing, kind regards, Jean.

Something I wrote on Puccini's picture, Beverley, one meter to left and another curve would appear (the railing).
But despite of that, excellent depth from the POV taken, and the variable light was well contributing to this attractive corner.
Both picture well made.
Good evening,
Ike

Dear Beverley,
What should I say? Its a good observation and an even more realization. It is architectural photograph at its finest. Have I already mentioned under similar photos that these would look better in BW? Never mind, I'm just a BW fan. :)
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Quite complicating building. At the first sight I didn't understand this ceiling at once.
Good composition.

Hi Bev,
very attractive design indeed. The geometry is stunning and you have presented it so well here.
Lines and curves go so well and are perfectly placed in the scene.
The quality is so great we can feel the surface of the walls.
Excellent reportage,

Hi Beverley
This modern interior architecture has loads of potential for interesting shots as shown. Beautiful silvery look, very clever composition, repetitive lines, shapes and curvies are used to greatest effect. And your exposure control is so seamless. Excellent capture.

Hello Beverley,
I like the predominantly b&w tonal range with mostly grey, broken at the top left by reflected coppery tones from the floor below. Good sharpness & well framed and composed. Tfs!

Hi Bev
surprising railways station, we should take more often the train! The ceiling looks as a bif question lmark, butthe stairs are still straight, they can improve to have only curves!

Hi Bev
yes, we need to see more shots like this on TE, there are so few of them. So you are now the first to present this building! lots of silvers and greys, lots of various metalic tones, its very manly haha. Personally, i prefer this coloured version. so much geometry going on here. wonderful visual, this was a TE treat :) cheers

Hello Bev,
I had to take a good look but then I quickly recognized the station in Arnhem.
I am also very surprised that there are no photos of this special building on TE before. Certainly because I have an extensive series of this building. I remember that I had prepared a number of photos for TE, but only posted two photos of the street painting festival on the station square.
Fortunately you make up for this loss.
Excellent work
Have a nice day. Groet Rob

Hello Bev,
I like your chosen composition; you got a little of everything in the frame, and we can see details of the curves, as well as the stairs and railings. All the different elements come together perfectly.
