Photographer's Note

The Prilep Clocktower, built in 1858, has a definite lean to it. Not quite as pronounced as Pisa but still quite noticeable. Taken with the fg ruins of a mosque and minaret from the old Ottoman era. They ruled the region for 500 years. The mosque dates from 1475 and sadly, was set alight in August, 2001 by Macedonians clashing with Albanians. I've added a cyan tint to the white sky.

I bet most people don't know that the pedestal for the Statue of Liberty in NYC, and some parts of the White House in Washington DC and other monuments there, used white marble from this area which is known as 'Sivec'. It's the whitest marble in the world.
