Photographer’s Note
A gathering of Ferrari with the background of the Duomo di San Giorgio in Ragusa Ibla (Sicily).
The Duomo is the work of the architect Rosario Gagliardi from Siracusa. He is responsible for many of the masterpieces of Baroque architecture that characterises, not only Ragusa, and in particular Ibla, but also the entire Val di Noto. Work began in 1738 on the site of the Church of San Nicolò or rather on the site where that church had stood prior to 1693. It was completed in 1775. The towering façade is typical of Gagliardi and he used this technique for other projects. It is surely one of the finest examples of Sicilian Baroque architecture. The 43-metre high dome was only finished in 1820 by Carmelo Cultrari. The wrought-iron gates at the bottom of the 54 steps leading to the main doors date from 1880 and were created by Angelo Paradiso.

An interesting contrast in styles - modern cars v old architecture.
You have captured this nicely with a good depth of field.

Bel contrasto davvero, ottimo POV.
Regards, tfs, Giorgio.

ciao Michelangelo,
