Photographer's Note
The Arch of Constantine is a triumphal arch in Rome, situated between the Colosseum and the Palatine Hill. It was erected by the Roman Senate to commemorate Constantine I's victory over Maxentius at the Battle of Milvian Bridge in 312. The arch spans the Via triumphalis, the way taken by the emperors when they entered the city in triumph.
Though dedicated to Constantine, much of the decorative material incorporated earlier work from the time of the emperors Trajan (98–117), Hadrian (117–138) and Marcus Aurelius (161–180), and is thus a collage. The last of the existing triumphal arches in Rome, it is also the only one to make extensive use of spolia, reusing several major reliefs from 2nd century imperial monuments, which give a striking and famous stylistic contrast to the sculpture newly created for the arch. This earned it the derisive nickname of Cornacchia di Esopo Aesop's Crow.

Hello Daniel,
THis is so different in atmosphere from the same monument that I posted recently.
At night, the Triumphal Arch is quiet and serene, very sympathetically lit by artificial lights so that the carvings stand out in relief.
It is so very different from a daytime scene, when the colours are bright and hundreds of tourists are milling around.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Daniel,
A great photo of the ancient arch at night. The lighting and illuminations are so well managed and the structure and its many fine details stand out so well from the dark background.

Hi Daniel,
very impressive ancient monument. Great capture at the night time.
I suppose late hour made it also possible to avoid crowds of tourists. This place feels so desolated in your photo and it goes well with the night time mood.
Beautiful capture,
M

Ciao Daniel
non si può pretendere la qualità di una foto in pieno sole, ma non si può rinunciare alla bellezza e all'atmosfera di momenti come questo. Bellissimo.
Saluti

Hello Daniel,
Well taken this monument at night.
Contrast from the illuminated arch against the dark sky backdrop appear in fine manner.
Details are marvelously sharp.
Have a nice new day,
