Name Volgare: Dafne azzurra

Family: Lycaenidae

Front wing length mm. 15-19

Male: shiny blue color with black border. Rear poses slightly toothed to the anal angle.

Male Reverse: fronts of whitish color with black dot design. Rear, generally light brown with green basal tint, black dot-shaped black contour and subarginal orange spaces more or less extensive.

Female: brownish brown color generally covered by a broad blue veil, from which the ribs, the submarginal area and the frontal wings area remain. Winged rear hinges.

Reverse female: similar to male, but light brown and with larger black designs.

Distribution: all of Italy except the island of Elba and Sardinia.

Habitat: Xerotermophilous species, meadows and radishes from baseline to mountainous up to 1800 m s.l.m.

Annual generations: one with flickering in July-August

Nursery plants: Coronilla var., Astragalus sp.
