Photographer's Note

St. Giovanni in Laterano.
The cathedral is a giant, yet a much more modestly ornamented giant compared to St. Peter. However, despite all its modesty, the huge statues of saints in the main gallery give a deep theatretical atmosphere. I remember that there was more cold marble compared to the glittering gold of St. Peter. I think it is my favourite cathedral in Rome.

This is one of the side corridors. The angels (putti) are of course presenting less drama compared to the statues of saints, but i still feel a deep grandeur coming to life with extremeley high walls and imposing sizes of every architectural detail.
