Photographer’s Note

Vernazza is a town and comune located in the province of La Spezia, Liguria, northwestern Italy. It is one of the five towns in the Cinque Terre region.
Vernazza is the fourth town heading north into the Cinque Terre. It has no car traffic (a road leads into a parking lot on the edge of the town) and remains one of the truest "fishing villages" on the Italian Riviera.
We had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant at the very top on the hill on the right. The restaurant was in the old fortress, the food was outstanding as was the view and service.

A lovely colourful composition of this beautiful harbour. I like the point of view with the quay on the right drawing us into the heart of the port. Good use of the panoramic format to put the emphasis on the interesting architecture. A very good light, with pleasing saturated tones and excellent sharpness.

What a coincidence!
Two things strikes me most: the difference in colours and the difference in perspective. The first is due both by the different sensor and light conditions, and the second by the focal lenght used. I shot some pictures from this pov too but the perspective and the proportions are so different! Here the wideangle makes this small harbour appear much larger than in reality and the dstance between the point where you shot the picture and the square seems enormous!
But the atmosphere is more or less the same I have found.

Hello Asa ,
It is interesting to see so different pictures of this wonderful place . Here , the wide angle provides an impressive perspective of the harbour (as Donato says , more enormous than the reality) . Saturated colors are different too , but very pleasant here .
But , all these contributions give the wish to go to visit the Cinque Terre .

Hi Asa,

The presence of the people has an effect of scale. The point of view leads my eye toward the building in the background which is giving depth and perspective to the composition. It is also allowing mw to see the details and colors of the architecture of the buildings. The light of the early evening has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

What a beautiful and colourful town - towered by a castle! The point of view here creates an enormous depth into the scenery and all these people show that it isn't "only" a museum.

interesting how many different views can be created of this most spectacular of C.T> villages. This wouldn't be my favorite. you try to include too much and lose a lot of detail the background is quite washed out.however, I am glad you had a good time and we also had a great dinner in the village and my mouth is still watering.
