Photographer’s Note

Verona is a city in Veneto, northern Italy, one of the seven provincial capitals in the region. It is one of the main tourist destinations in north-eastern Italy, thanks to its artistic heritage, several annual fairs, shows and operas, such as the lyrical season in the Arena, the ancient amphitheatre built by the Romans.

Verona owes its historical and economical importance to its geographical location, in a loop of the Adige River near Lake Garda. Because of this position, the areas saw regular floodings until 1956, when the Mori-Torbole tunnel was constructed, providing 500 cubic meters of discharge from the Adige river to Lake Garda when there was danger of flooding. The tunnel reduced the risk of flooding from once every seventy years to once every two centuries.

Ciao Silvio,oltre alla torre abbiamo scoperto anche i lussuosi bus che passano per la citta' scaligera...e la foto e' pure dritta...2 miracoli in un colpo solo...siamo sulla buona strada....buona serata e buon meeting.Ma hai notizie del cobra?

se non ricordo male oltre gli archi c'è l'arena, o sbaglio? Bella verticale col bus verde che fa molto composizione e colore. Buon meeting e visto che vi vedrete salutami Robertone!

dal punto di vista architettonico la foto mi piace molto. Anche il taglio verticale trovo che sia una scelta indovinata.

Però potevi aspettare che l'autobus passasse, o no?

questa sera sei piacevolmente in Veneto, con questa bella immagine che ci mostra un dettaglio di Verona. Concordo con quanto scrivi nelle note, perchè è veramente una città ricchissima di storia e cultura. Se ritorni dalle mie parti, passa a trovarmi! :-)

You take a very nice picture of old wall and modern city with bus, vespa and large steeet.
