Castle of Fabbri - Montefalco (PG)
Located halfway between Trevi and Montefalco, from the top of a hill overlooking the plain below where the vine culture predominates. The place has been inhabited since ancient times, an area for cemetery use has been found nearby. In the area of Fabbri, in the past, a travertine altar has come to light with the dedication of a military man from the urban cohort to the god Silvano, received by grace, thus witnessing the presence of a place of worship dedicated to this deity. Two late antique sarcophagi come from the area. Vigliano, toponym of predial type also testifies the presence of an ancient settlement.
The Castle was built in the fourteenth century, was part of the defensive system albornoziano. It passed at the end of the 14th century under the Trinci dominion; it was at that time called Bastida Fabrorum headed by "castellanu fido con partner", with a monthly prerogative of five gold florins.
